Yvette and I headed down to Durango for the Drift-in rally held by the Vulcan Drifter Owners Group (VDOG) It was a nice little gathering in a beautiful part of Colorado. We rode the the Million Dollar Highway from Ouray to Silverton on our way there. Going south over Red Mountain Pass is definitely more spectacular than riding North from Silverton...
This is Hillbilly, he was our host for the rally. I had to appreciate his custom beard...
This is Hillbilly's bike. A very trick Drifter with lots of customization.
This Drifter belongs to Deb, Hillbilly's wife
Another nice Drifter.
And another
This is Denny Berg, the creator of the Drifter. The bike he is sitting on is the Super Chief, the prototype he designed.
Denny wanted the Drifter to be ultra clean. He had the brake and clutch reservoirs hidden, and simple switches on the handlebars.
Instrumentation was kept to a minimum.
Notice the horn on top of the headlight.
Just beautiful
About 29 Drifters.
There is one in there that looks kinda familiar...
Our friend Fred, horsing around.
Fred, Ramy, John, Margaret, and Yvette
Our hosts, Hillbilly and Deb
Gratuitous photo of the Durango - Silverton Narrow Gauge Train
Went for a ride with an old friend, and made some new ones.
We had stopped along the road for Heidi's husband Eddie Mac. His bike started acting up and then quit running.
The guys trying to get Eddie Mac's bike running again, but no joy. We had to return with a trailer to fetch it. Try to keep the Harley jokes to a minimum, OK? <G>

Lucky Dog...
